Privacy Policy
The S4V is committed to respecting the privacy of all donors. The types of donor information the agency collects and maintains are as follows:
-Contact information: name, address, telephone number, and email address -Giving Information -Information on events attended, publications received, and special requests for program information -Information provided by the donor on the form of comments and suggestions The S4V uses donor information to understand their interests in its mission and to update them on the organization’s plans and activities. It is shared with staff, board members, volunteers, and consultants only on a “need to know” basis. The S4V also assures donors that their names and addresses will not be shared with any third party unless permission has been granted. For those who do not wish to be included on a mailing list that might be sold, rented, or leased to other organizations, donors should contact the organization and have their names removed. Comments and questions about the S4V’s donor privacy policy will be addressed. The donor privacy policy is available on the website. All board members, and volunteers involved in fundraising will be required to sign a confidentiality statement, as they are often privy to personal information about a donor’s giving history, family, wealth, and assets. Violation of the confidentiality agreement is grounds for removal of the offending person(s) from their position(s) within the organization. |
Donor Email PolicyThe S4V requests email addresses for donors in some solicitation materials. Donors may choose whether to provide the information on the response card. Donors may opt out of receiving email communication at any time by responding to an agency email and requesting the removal of their email address or by writing or calling the organization and asking that their name be removed from the email communication list.
